American Mud Pumps® Joins HDEC and U.S. Commercial Service for "Doing Business with Venezuela" Program in Houston

In September 2026, American Mud Pumps® (AMP) joined the Houston District Export Council (HDEC) and the U.S. Commercial Service for Exporter Corner: Doing Business with Venezuela, held on September 24 at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Houston. The program gave Houston-area exporters a direct view of the regulatory, logistical and commercial landscape shaping energy activity in Venezuela and the wider Latin American region.

A Program Built Around Compliance and Opportunity

The session brought together speakers from the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), alongside industry participants including SLB, Halliburton and Weatherford. Discussions covered new opportunities for trade and investment, logistics and transportation into the region, energy and critical minerals, U.S. sanctions, licenses and compliance, and Venezuela's new hydrocarbons law and the petroleum opportunities expected to follow.

Why It Matters for a Houston Mud Pump Manufacturer

For a manufacturer of triplex and quintuplex mud pumps, parts and expendables, understanding the regulatory framework comes before any market conversation. As activity in the Latin American energy sector grows, AMP intends to be prepared to support operators and drilling contractors with reliable equipment, spare parts and inspection services, always in accordance with current U.S. sanctions and export regulations.

"Under CEO Rolando Tovar's leadership, American Mud Pumps® continues to approach new markets with the same discipline we apply to our equipment: preparation first, compliance always."

"Programs like this one give us clarity on what is permitted, what is changing, and how to prepare responsibly. Our priority is to be ready to serve the region's operators and drilling contractors the right way, within the rules."
